Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 120 ml
  • Active dry yeast - 7 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegan sausage (crumbled) - 100 grams
  • Red bell pepper - 1 (finely diced)
  • Onion - 1 small (finely chopped)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves (minced)
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
  • Tomato sauce - 4 tablespoons
  • Black olives - 50 grams (sliced)
  • Fresh basil - 2 tablespoons (chopped)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and olive oil, kneading until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes in a warm place.
  3. While the dough is rising, heat a pan over medium heat. Add a little olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
  4. Add the crumbled vegan sausage, red bell pepper, cumin, coriander, and paprika to the pan. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through. Stir in the fresh parsley and remove from heat.
  5. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
  6. Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, then top with the vegan sausage mixture and black olives.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh basil, and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing and serving.
