- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh mint leaves, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
- Plain yogurt - 150 grams
- Fresh mint leaves, whole - for garnish
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Pita bread or burger buns - 2
Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin powder, salt, black pepper, and chopped mint leaves. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and have a nice brown crust.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the minted yogurt sauce by mixing plain yogurt with finely chopped mint leaves and a pinch of salt in a small bowl.
- Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet. To assemble, place each patty on a piece of pita bread or inside a burger bun, top with lettuce leaves, and generously drizzle with the minted yogurt sauce.
