Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Olive oil - 30 ml
- Salt - 5 grams
- Ground beef - 200 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Pine nuts - 30 grams, toasted (optional)
- Lemon wedges - for serving
Steps
- In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm place.
- In a skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Stir in cumin, cinnamon, paprika, salt, black pepper, and parsley. Cook for another 5 minutes until well combined. Remove from heat.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into two equal pieces and roll each piece into a circle about 25 cm in diameter.
- Place the rolled dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the beef mixture evenly over each dough circle.
- If using, sprinkle toasted pine nuts on top of the beef.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve with lemon wedges.
