Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Olive oil - 15 ml
- Salt - 5 grams
- Labneh - 100 grams
- Za'atar spice mix - 30 grams
- Sesame seeds - 15 grams
Steps
- In a bowl, mix warm water and active dry yeast, letting it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into two equal balls. Roll each ball into a flat circle, about 20 cm in diameter.
- Spread labneh evenly on each rolled dough and sprinkle za'atar and sesame seeds on top.
- Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
