- Ground lamb - 300 grams
- Ground beef - 200 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Pine nuts - 30 grams, toasted
- Allspice - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh mint - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sausage casing - 2 meters (optional, if making links)
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb and ground beef.
- Add the minced garlic, chopped onion, toasted pine nuts, allspice, cinnamon, cumin, salt, black pepper, chopped parsley, and chopped mint to the meat mixture.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly by hand or with a fork until well combined.
- If using sausage casing, rinse it in cold water and soak it for 30 minutes to soften.
- Stuff the sausage casing with the meat mixture using a sausage stuffer, tying off the ends, or shape the mixture into patties if not using casings.
- Heat a grill or BBQ to medium-high heat and brush with olive oil.
- Cook the sausages or patties for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until fully cooked and browned on all sides.
- Serve hot with fresh pita bread, tahini sauce, or a side of tabbouleh.
