Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams (80% lean)
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Tahini - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 1 tablespoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4 small, thinly sliced

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, allspice, paprika, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the tahini sauce by mixing tahini, lemon juice, and water in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more water if necessary.
  5. Once the burgers are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. To assemble, place each burger patty inside a pita bread and top with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, and a drizzle of tahini sauce.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your Lebanese Spiced Beef Burger.
