Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Warm water - 120 ml
- Olive oil - 30 ml
- Salt - 5 grams
- Ground beef - 200 grams
- Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium (about 100 grams)
- Pine nuts - 30 grams
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast, and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rise for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the ground beef, cooking until browned and fully cooked.
- Stir in pine nuts, cinnamon, allspice, salt, black pepper, parsley, and lemon juice. Mix well and remove from heat. Let the filling cool slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a tablespoon of the meat filling in the center of each circle. Fold over and seal the edges by pressing them together or crimping with a fork.
- Place the pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
