- Ground lamb - 250 grams
- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 30 grams, finely chopped
- Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
- Pine nuts - 30 grams, toasted
- Allspice - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Pita bread or Lebanese flatbread - 2 pieces
- Lemon wedges - for serving
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, tomato paste, pine nuts, allspice, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Divide the meat mixture into 2 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1 cm thick.
- Place the patties on the prepared baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the patties are cooked through and slightly browned.
- Meanwhile, warm the pita bread or flatbreads in a pan or oven.
- Once the patties are done, place each patty inside a warm pita or flatbread, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
