Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Labneh - 100 grams
  • Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Fresh mint leaves - a handful
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into two equal patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the toppings. In a small bowl, mix labneh with lemon juice and a pinch of salt.
  5. Warm the pita bread in a dry skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side until soft.
  6. Once the patties are done, assemble the burgers: spread a layer of labneh on the pita, add the cooked patty, then top with sliced cucumber, tomato, and fresh mint leaves.
  7. Fold the pita around the filling and serve immediately.
