Ingredients
- Greek yogurt - 500 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Dried mint - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Pita bread - 2 pieces, for serving
- Vegetables (cucumbers, carrots) - for serving
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and salt. Mix well until the salt is fully dissolved.
- Line a fine mesh strainer with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel and set it over a bowl to catch the whey.
- Pour the salted yogurt into the lined strainer and fold the cheesecloth over the top to cover the yogurt.
- Allow the yogurt to drain in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours, preferably 24 hours, to achieve a thick consistency.
- Once drained, transfer the labneh to a serving dish. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with dried mint and chopped parsley.
- Serve with pita bread and fresh vegetables for dipping.
