- Semolina - 100 grams
- All-purpose flour - 50 grams
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Water - 150 ml
- Rose water - 1 tablespoon
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Milk - 250 ml
- Additional sugar for syrup - 50 grams
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine semolina, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and 50 grams of sugar.
- Gradually add 150 ml of water, rose water, and cardamom powder to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Let the dough rest for 10 minutes, then shape it into small oval or round dumplings.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat, and fry the dumplings until golden brown on all sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a saucepan, combine 250 ml of milk and 50 grams of sugar, heating gently until the sugar dissolves. Do not boil.
- Once the milk syrup is ready, add the fried dumplings to the syrup and let them soak for about 5-10 minutes.
- Serve warm, drizzled with additional milk syrup and garnished with crushed nuts or a sprinkle of cardamom if desired.
