- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Warm water - 100 ml
- Ground cardamom - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Honey - 100 grams
- Water for syrup - 50 ml
- Chopped walnuts (for garnish) - 30 grams
- Rose water - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine semolina, all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, ground cardamom, and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add warm water to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- While the dough is resting, prepare the syrup by combining honey and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat and add rose water.
- After resting, shape the dough into small oval or round dumplings.
- In a non-stick pan over medium heat, cook the dumplings until golden brown on all sides, about 10-12 minutes.
- Once cooked, transfer the dumplings to a serving dish and immediately drizzle the warm honey syrup over them, allowing them to soak for a few minutes.
- Garnish with chopped walnuts before serving.
