Ingredients

  • Semolina - 100 grams
  • All-purpose flour - 50 grams
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Warm water - 100 ml
  • Ground cardamom - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Honey - 100 grams
  • Water for syrup - 50 ml
  • Chopped walnuts (for garnish) - 30 grams
  • Rose water - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine semolina, all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, ground cardamom, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Gradually add warm water to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. While the dough is resting, prepare the syrup by combining honey and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat and add rose water.
  4. After resting, shape the dough into small oval or round dumplings.
  5. In a non-stick pan over medium heat, cook the dumplings until golden brown on all sides, about 10-12 minutes.
  6. Once cooked, transfer the dumplings to a serving dish and immediately drizzle the warm honey syrup over them, allowing them to soak for a few minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped walnuts before serving.
