  • Qashta (clotted cream) - 100 grams
  • Greek yogurt - 50 grams
  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Pistachios (crushed) - 20 grams
  • Rose water - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the melted butter with the shredded Knafeh dough until all pieces are coated.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the Qashta, Greek yogurt, sugar, and rose water until smooth.
  4. Grease a small baking dish with some melted butter and layer half of the Knafeh dough evenly on the bottom.
  5. Spread the Qashta mixture over the Knafeh base evenly.
  6. Top with the remaining Knafeh dough, pressing down gently to compact it.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  8. While the Knafeh is baking, prepare the syrup by heating the water and honey in a small saucepan until the honey is dissolved.
  9. Once the Knafeh is done, remove from the oven and drizzle the honey syrup over the top while still hot.
  10. Allow it to cool slightly, then garnish with crushed pistachios before serving.
