Ingredients
- Knafeh dough - 100 grams
- Unsalted butter - 50 grams, melted
- Qashta (clotted cream) - 100 grams
- Greek yogurt - 50 grams
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Pistachios (crushed) - 20 grams
- Rose water - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 100 ml
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, mix the melted butter with the shredded Knafeh dough until all pieces are coated.
- In a separate bowl, combine the Qashta, Greek yogurt, sugar, and rose water until smooth.
- Grease a small baking dish with some melted butter and layer half of the Knafeh dough evenly on the bottom.
- Spread the Qashta mixture over the Knafeh base evenly.
- Top with the remaining Knafeh dough, pressing down gently to compact it.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
- While the Knafeh is baking, prepare the syrup by heating the water and honey in a small saucepan until the honey is dissolved.
- Once the Knafeh is done, remove from the oven and drizzle the honey syrup over the top while still hot.
- Allow it to cool slightly, then garnish with crushed pistachios before serving.
