Ingredients

  • Almond flour - 200g
  • Ground lamb or beef - 250g
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium (about 100g)
  • Pine nuts - 30g
  • Ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • Allspice - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Olive oil - 2 tbsp
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tbsp
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Water - 100ml

Steps

  1. In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
  2. Add in the minced garlic and ground meat. Cook until the meat is browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Stir in the ground cinnamon, allspice, salt, black pepper, pine nuts, and chopped parsley. Cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour and water, mixing until a dough forms. Knead briefly until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into two equal portions. Roll out each portion between two sheets of parchment paper into thin circles, about 0.5 cm thick.
  6. Place half of the meat filling on one half of each dough circle, leaving a border. Fold the other half over and seal the edges by pressing them together with a fork.
  7. In a skillet, heat the remaining olive oil over medium heat. Cook the filled dough pockets for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from the skillet and let cool for a moment before serving.
