Ingredients

  • Lamb or beef (ground) - 200 grams
  • Fine bulgur wheat - 50 grams
  • Onion (finely grated) - 1 small
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Allspice - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Pine nuts (toasted) - 30 grams
  • Fresh mint leaves (chopped) - 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon (juiced) - 1
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces

Steps

  1. Rinse the bulgur wheat under cold water and soak it in warm water for about 20 minutes until it softens, then drain well.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb or beef, soaked bulgur, grated onion, salt, black pepper, and allspice. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Using your hands, form the mixture into small patties or serve it in a flat dish, smoothing the top.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the top of the kibbeh and sprinkle with toasted pine nuts and chopped mint leaves.
  5. Serve with lemon wedges and warm pita bread on the side.
