Ingredients
- Lamb or beef (ground) - 200 grams
- Fine bulgur wheat - 50 grams
- Onion (finely grated) - 1 small
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Allspice - 1/4 teaspoon
- Pine nuts (toasted) - 30 grams
- Fresh mint leaves (chopped) - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon (juiced) - 1
- Pita bread - 2 pieces
Steps
- Rinse the bulgur wheat under cold water and soak it in warm water for about 20 minutes until it softens, then drain well.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb or beef, soaked bulgur, grated onion, salt, black pepper, and allspice. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small patties or serve it in a flat dish, smoothing the top.
- Drizzle olive oil over the top of the kibbeh and sprinkle with toasted pine nuts and chopped mint leaves.
- Serve with lemon wedges and warm pita bread on the side.
