Ingredients
- Phyllo pastry - 4 sheets
- Unsalted butter - 50 grams, melted
- Walnuts - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Pistachios - 30 grams, finely chopped
- Sugar - 40 grams
- Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Rose water - 1 tablespoon
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Powdered sugar - for dusting
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a small bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, chopped pistachios, sugar, and ground cinnamon.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean surface and brush it generously with melted butter. Repeat this process for two more sheets, stacking them on top of each other.
- Spread half of the nut mixture evenly over the pastry layers.
- Fold the edges of the phyllo pastry over the filling and roll it up tightly to form a log.
- Place the log seam side down on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the top with more melted butter.
- Repeat the process with the remaining phyllo sheets and nut mixture to make a second log.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle with honey and rose water while still warm.
- Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and slicing into pieces. Serve warm or at room temperature.
