Ingredients

  • Almond flour - 200 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Water - 50 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground lamb or beef - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Yogurt (full-fat, unsweetened) - 200 grams
  • Fresh mint leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, egg, water, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Knead to form a smooth dough, then cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in a little oil until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add ground meat, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook until the meat is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  4. Roll out the dough on a parchment paper surface to about 2-3 mm thick. Cut into circles (about 6 cm in diameter) using a cookie cutter or glass.
  5. Place a small spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the circle over to create a half-moon shape and press the edges to seal.
  6. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Gently drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they float to the surface.
  7. In a serving bowl, mix the yogurt with a pinch of salt. Serve the dumplings warm with yogurt on the side and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
