Ingredients

  • Almond flour - 200 grams
  • Ground lamb or beef - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the ground meat, paprika, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the meat is browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and mix in the chopped parsley and crumbled feta cheese, if using. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine the almond flour with the egg to form a dough. If the dough is too crumbly, add a teaspoon of water until it holds together.
  7. Divide the dough into two equal portions and flatten each into a disc about 1/2 inch thick.
  8. Place a portion of the meat mixture in the center of each disc and fold the dough over to create a small pocket, sealing the edges firmly.
  9. Place the sfeeha on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with olive oil.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
