Ingredients

  • Roasted red bell peppers - 120 grams (1 medium pepper)
  • Walnuts - 60 grams
  • Extra virgin olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Place walnuts on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 8-10 minutes until fragrant and lightly browned, stirring halfway through.
  3. Remove the walnuts from the oven and allow them to cool.
  4. In a blender or food processor, combine roasted red bell peppers, cooled walnuts, olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, salt, lemon juice, and water.
  5. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice to your liking.
  7. Transfer the Muhammara dip to a serving bowl and drizzle with a little extra olive oil if desired.
  8. Serve immediately with vegetables, keto crackers, or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
