Ingredients

  • Greek yogurt - 400 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh mint leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Zaatar spice - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and salt, stirring until well mixed.
  2. Line a fine mesh strainer with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel and place it over a bowl.
  3. Pour the yogurt mixture into the lined strainer and let it drain in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours or overnight for a thicker texture.
  4. Once drained, transfer the labneh to a serving bowl.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, chopped mint, chopped parsley, zaatar, lemon juice, and minced garlic.
  6. Pour the herb and oil mixture over the labneh, allowing it to marinate for at least 15 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve with fresh vegetable sticks or low-carb crackers.
