- Ground beef - 300 grams
- Onion, finely grated - 1 small (about 50 grams)
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for brushing)
- Greek yogurt - 100 grams (for sauce)
- Cucumber, grated - 1/2 medium (about 50 grams)
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - a pinch (for sauce)
- Mint leaves, chopped - 1 tablespoon (for sauce)
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into an oval-shaped kofta, about the size of your palm.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the koftas lightly with olive oil.
- Grill the koftas for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
- While the koftas are cooking, prepare the cucumber-yogurt sauce by mixing the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and chopped mint leaves in a small bowl. Stir until well mixed.
- Once the koftas are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve the koftas hot with the cucumber-yogurt sauce on the side.
