Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Ground lamb - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Allspice - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Zucchini noodles - 200 grams
  • Tomato sauce - 200 grams, no added sugar
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, allspice, salt, black pepper, olive oil, and egg. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small patties and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the kafta patties in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until browned and cooked through.
  5. While the kafta is baking, spiralize the zucchini to create noodles or use pre-made zucchini noodles.
  6. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the zucchini noodles for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. In a baking dish, layer the sautéed zucchini noodles and pour the tomato sauce over them. Top with baked kafta patties.
  8. Sprinkle crumbled feta cheese on top and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to heat through.
