Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • Plain yogurt - 150 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
  • Skewers - 4 (wooden or metal)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  3. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning (if using wooden skewers).
  4. Preheat the grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  6. Grill the kebabs for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  7. Remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  8. Serve the kebabs garnished with chopped fresh parsley and alongside your choice of flatbread and vegetables.
