Ingredients

  • Ground beef or lamb - 250 grams

  • Fresh mint - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for brushing)
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces (optional for serving)
  • Tahini sauce - for drizzling (optional)

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, parsley, mint, minced garlic, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly with your hands until well combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a long, flat kebab on skewers.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush it with olive oil.
  5. Place the kebabs on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Serve the kafta kebabs with pita bread and a drizzle of tahini sauce, if desired.
