- Ground lamb or beef - 250 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Pine nuts - 2 tablespoons, toasted
- Allspice - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Tomato - 1 large, sliced
- Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Zucchini - 1 medium, sliced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb or beef, chopped onion, parsley, toasted pine nuts, allspice, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
- Layer the sliced tomato, bell pepper, and zucchini in a baking dish, drizzling with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkling with a little salt and pepper.
- Shape the meat mixture into oval patties and place them on top of the vegetables in the baking dish.
- Drizzle the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over the kafta and vegetables, and sprinkle the minced garlic on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and vegetables are tender.
- Remove from the oven, drizzle with lemon juice, and serve hot.
