- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Ground lamb - 250 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon for grilling
- Lemon - 1, for serving
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground lamb, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix the ingredients well with your hands until fully incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into oval or cylindrical patties.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with olive oil.
- Grill the kafta patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and nicely charred.
- Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve with lemon wedges for squeezing over the top.
