- Chickpeas - 200 grams (canned or cooked)
- Tahini - 50 grams
- Olive oil - 30 ml (plus extra for drizzling)
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Lemon juice - 30 ml
- Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 60 ml
- Paprika - for garnish
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight and cook until tender. If using canned chickpeas, rinse and drain them.
- In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, minced garlic, lemon juice, ground cumin, salt, and water.
- Blend the mixture until smooth, adding additional water if necessary to achieve a creamy consistency.
- Once smooth, taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and create a small well in the center.
- Drizzle the olive oil into the well and sprinkle paprika and chopped parsley on top for garnish.
- Serve immediately with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as desired.
