Ingredients

  • Chickpeas - 200 grams (canned or cooked)
  • Tahini - 50 grams
  • Olive oil - 30 ml (plus extra for drizzling)
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Lemon juice - 30 ml
  • Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - 60 ml
  • Paprika - for garnish
  • Fresh parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight and cook until tender. If using canned chickpeas, rinse and drain them.
  2. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, minced garlic, lemon juice, ground cumin, salt, and water.
  3. Blend the mixture until smooth, adding additional water if necessary to achieve a creamy consistency.
  4. Once smooth, taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and create a small well in the center.
  6. Drizzle the olive oil into the well and sprinkle paprika and chopped parsley on top for garnish.
  7. Serve immediately with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as desired.
