- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Oats - 50 grams (finely ground)
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1 medium (sliced)
- Cucumber - 1 small (sliced)
- Red onion - 1/4 small (sliced)
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
Steps
- In a food processor, combine cooked chickpeas, tahini, minced garlic, lemon juice, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the finely ground oats until well combined. Let it sit for 10 minutes to firm up.
- Shape the mixture into 2 burger patties.
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the patty, sliced tomato, cucumber, red onion, and chopped parsley. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side.
