- Chickpeas - 200 grams (canned or cooked)
- Tahini - 50 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Lemon juice - 30 ml
- Olive oil - 30 ml
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ground lamb or beef - 200 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Pine nuts - 30 grams, toasted
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight and cook until tender. For canned chickpeas, drain and rinse them well.
- In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and cumin. Blend until smooth, adding water if necessary to reach your desired consistency.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
- Add the ground lamb or beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the paprika and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- To serve, spread the hummus on a plate and top with the spiced meat mixture. Garnish with toasted pine nuts and fresh parsley.
