Ingredients
- Ground turkey - 400 grams
- Harissa paste - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Yogurt - 2 tablespoons (for sauce)
- Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon (for sauce)
- Salt - 1 pinch (for sauce)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground turkey, harissa paste, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal patties, approximately 2 cm thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the turkey patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 75°C.
- While the patties are cooking, mix the yogurt, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl to create a simple sauce.
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the turkey patty, sliced tomato, and cucumber. Drizzle with the yogurt sauce and top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with a side of fresh salad or baked sweet potato fries.
