Ingredients
- Semolina - 100 grams
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Water - 250 ml
- Rose water - 1 tablespoon
- Pistachios (crushed) - 30 grams
- Butter - 20 grams
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Milk - 200 ml
Steps
- In a saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the semolina to the milk mixture gradually, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook for about 10 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and fold in the mozzarella cheese and butter until fully combined and smooth.
- Spread the mixture evenly onto a greased plate or tray, smoothing the top with a spatula. Allow it to cool for about 15 minutes.
- While the mixture cools, prepare the syrup by combining water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes until syrupy. Stir in rose water.
- Once the semolina and cheese mixture has cooled, cut it into squares or diamond shapes.
- Serve the pieces drizzled with the syrup and sprinkle crushed pistachios on top.
