- Ground beef - 300 grams
- Ground lamb - 200 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon - 1, juiced
- Wooden skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground lamb, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, allspice, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly using your hands until well combined.
- Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion around a soaked wooden skewer, pressing firmly to ensure they hold their shape.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F) and they are nicely browned.
- Remove the kafta from the grill and drizzle with fresh lemon juice before serving.
