Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Ground lamb - 200 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely grated
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon - 1, juiced
  • Wooden skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground lamb, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, allspice, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly using your hands until well combined.
  3. Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion around a soaked wooden skewer, pressing firmly to ensure they hold their shape.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F) and they are nicely browned.
  6. Remove the kafta from the grill and drizzle with fresh lemon juice before serving.
