- Breadcrumbs - 100 grams
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - for frying
Steps
- Cut the halloumi cheese into bite-sized cubes, about 2 cm each.
- In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried oregano.
- In another bowl, beat the egg until well mixed.
- In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs mixed with chopped fresh parsley.
- Coat each halloumi cube first in the flour mixture, then dip in the beaten egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat, enough to cover the bottom of the pan.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated halloumi bites in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove from the pan and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
