- White fish fillets (e.g., cod or haddock) - 200 grams
- Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Red onion, finely chopped - 1 small
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Egg - 1 large
- Bread crumbs - 3 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
- Lemon wedges - for serving
Steps
- In a food processor, combine the white fish fillets, parsley, cilantro, garlic, red onion, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
- Transfer the fish mixture to a bowl and add the egg and bread crumbs. Mix well until combined.
- Wet your hands and shape the mixture into small oval or round patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the kofta patties, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Cook the koftas for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
- Serve the fish koftas warm with lemon wedges on the side.
