Ingredients
- White fish fillet (like cod or haddock) - 300 grams
- Bulgur wheat (fine) - 50 grams
- Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium
- Parsley (fresh, chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Mint (fresh, chopped) - 1 tablespoon
- Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Allspice powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
- Water - 200 ml
Steps
- Rinse the bulgur wheat under cold water and soak it in 200 ml of water for about 30 minutes until it softens.
- Meanwhile, steam or poach the fish fillet until fully cooked, about 10-15 minutes, then flake it into small pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked bulgur wheat, flaked fish, chopped onion, parsley, mint, garlic, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Form the mixture into small oval or round patties, about 5 cm in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the kebbeh patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the skillet and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
