- Pita bread - 2 medium-sized
- Hummus - 200 grams
- Plain yogurt - 100 grams
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Pine nuts - 30 grams
- Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cut the pita bread into bite-sized pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet.
- Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Toss to coat the bread evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy, stirring halfway through.
- In a small bowl, mix the hummus with minced garlic, cumin, paprika, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine the yogurt with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Stir until smooth.
- Once the pita bread is ready, remove it from the oven and layer half of the bread pieces in a serving dish.
- Spread half of the hummus mixture over the bread, followed by half of the yogurt sauce.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining bread, hummus, and yogurt sauce.
- In a small pan, toast the pine nuts over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish the top with toasted pine nuts and chopped parsley before serving.
