Ingredients

  • Pita bread - 2 medium-sized
  • Hummus - 200 grams
  • Plain yogurt - 100 grams
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Pine nuts - 30 grams
  • Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cut the pita bread into bite-sized pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Toss to coat the bread evenly.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy, stirring halfway through.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the hummus with minced garlic, cumin, paprika, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  6. In another bowl, combine the yogurt with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Stir until smooth.
  7. Once the pita bread is ready, remove it from the oven and layer half of the bread pieces in a serving dish.
  8. Spread half of the hummus mixture over the bread, followed by half of the yogurt sauce.
  9. Repeat the layers with the remaining bread, hummus, and yogurt sauce.
  10. In a small pan, toast the pine nuts over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  11. Garnish the top with toasted pine nuts and chopped parsley before serving.
