Ingredients

  • Medjool dates - 150 grams (about 10 dates)
  • Walnuts - 50 grams (about 1/2 cup, chopped)
  • Almonds - 25 grams (about 1/4 cup, chopped)
  • Cocoa powder - 15 grams (about 2 tablespoons)
  • Cardamom powder - 1 gram (about 1/4 teaspoon)
  • Coconut flakes - 30 grams (about 1/3 cup, for rolling)
  • Honey - 15 grams (about 1 tablespoon, optional)

Steps

  1. Remove the pits from the Medjool dates and place them in a food processor.
  2. Add chopped walnuts, chopped almonds, cocoa powder, and cardamom powder to the food processor.
  3. Blend the mixture until it becomes a sticky, cohesive dough. If the mixture is too dry, add honey to help it bind.
  4. Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 2.5 cm in diameter.
  5. Roll each ball in coconut flakes to coat evenly.
  6. Place the finished date balls in the fridge for at least 10 minutes to firm up before serving.
