- Medjool dates - 150 grams (about 10 dates)
- Walnuts - 50 grams (about 1/2 cup, chopped)
- Almonds - 25 grams (about 1/4 cup, chopped)
- Cocoa powder - 15 grams (about 2 tablespoons)
- Cardamom powder - 1 gram (about 1/4 teaspoon)
- Coconut flakes - 30 grams (about 1/3 cup, for rolling)
- Honey - 15 grams (about 1 tablespoon, optional)
Steps
- Remove the pits from the Medjool dates and place them in a food processor.
- Add chopped walnuts, chopped almonds, cocoa powder, and cardamom powder to the food processor.
- Blend the mixture until it becomes a sticky, cohesive dough. If the mixture is too dry, add honey to help it bind.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 2.5 cm in diameter.
- Roll each ball in coconut flakes to coat evenly.
- Place the finished date balls in the fridge for at least 10 minutes to firm up before serving.
