Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Tahini - 4 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Pine nuts - 1 tablespoon, toasted

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, combine cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Toss the tofu cubes in the cornstarch mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the coated tofu cubes and fry until golden and crispy on all sides, about 10-12 minutes.
  5. While the tofu is frying, prepare the tahini sauce by whisking together tahini, lemon juice, and water in a bowl until smooth. Adjust the water for desired consistency.
  6. Once the tofu is crispy, remove it from the skillet and place it on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the crispy tofu drizzled with tahini sauce, garnished with chopped parsley and toasted pine nuts.
