Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (like cod or haddock) - 300 grams
  • All-purpose flour - 50 grams
  • Cornstarch - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Breadcrumbs - 100 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 200 ml
  • Tahini - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and season them with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, cornstarch, paprika, cumin, and garlic powder.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg until smooth.
  4. In a third dish, place the breadcrumbs mixed with chopped parsley.
  5. Dip each fish fillet first into the flour mixture, then into the beaten egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  7. Carefully add the coated fish fillets to the hot oil, frying them for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Once cooked, transfer the fish fillets to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. In a small bowl, mix tahini, lemon juice, and water until smooth to create the sauce.
  10. Serve the crispy fish fillets hot with the tahini sauce drizzled over or on the side.
