Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams
  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, diced
  • Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Parsley - a handful, chopped
  • Tahini - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into strips and add to the marinade, ensuring the chicken is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
  4. While the chicken is grilling, prepare the vegetables by dicing the tomato and cucumber, slicing the red onion, and chopping the parsley.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.
  6. To assemble, place the grilled chicken on the pita bread, add the diced vegetables and a drizzle of tahini. Optionally, garnish with parsley.
  7. Wrap the pita around the filling and serve immediately.
