Ingredients
- Chicken breast - 300 grams
- Yogurt - 100 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pita bread - 2 pieces
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Cucumber - 1 small, diced
- Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Parsley - a handful, chopped
- Tahini - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Cut the chicken breast into strips and add to the marinade, ensuring the chicken is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- While the chicken is grilling, prepare the vegetables by dicing the tomato and cucumber, slicing the red onion, and chopping the parsley.
- Once the chicken is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.
- To assemble, place the grilled chicken on the pita bread, add the diced vegetables and a drizzle of tahini. Optionally, garnish with parsley.
- Wrap the pita around the filling and serve immediately.
