- Yogurt - 100 grams (for sauce)
- Tahini - 1 tablespoon (for sauce)
- Water - 1 tablespoon (for sauce)
- Salt - a pinch (for sauce)
- Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon (for sauce)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the beef, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and marinate for at least 20 minutes.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated beef for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through, stirring occasionally.
- In a small bowl, mix together the yogurt, tahini, water, salt, and lemon juice to create the sauce.
- Warm the pita bread on the grill for about 1 minute on each side.
- Assemble the shawarma by placing the cooked beef in the pita, then topping with diced tomato, cucumber, red onion, and fresh parsley.
- Drizzle the garlic sauce over the top, wrap the pita, and serve immediately.
