Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Fresh mint - 1 tablespoon, finely chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for grilling)
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Tahini sauce - 4 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped mint, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the beef mixture into 2 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, place the kofta patties on the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
  4. While the patties are cooking, warm the pita bread in a separate pan or in the oven for a few minutes.
  5. Once the kofta patties are done, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a minute.
  6. To assemble, place each kofta patty inside a warm pita bread, top with sliced tomato and cucumber, and drizzle with tahini sauce. Serve immediately.
