Ingredients
- Ground beef - 400 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Fresh mint - 1 tablespoon, finely chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for grilling)
- Pita bread - 2 pieces
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
- Tahini sauce - 4 tablespoons
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped mint, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Divide the beef mixture into 2 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 2 cm thick.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, place the kofta patties on the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, warm the pita bread in a separate pan or in the oven for a few minutes.
- Once the kofta patties are done, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a minute.
- To assemble, place each kofta patty inside a warm pita bread, top with sliced tomato and cucumber, and drizzle with tahini sauce. Serve immediately.
