Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80% lean) - 300 grams
  • Onion (finely grated) - 1 small
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Cucumber (sliced) - ½ medium
  • Tahini sauce - 4 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Form the beef mixture into 2 patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the pita bread by warming them on the grill for 1-2 minutes, flipping once.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a beef patty inside each pita, then top with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and drizzle with tahini sauce and lemon juice.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of side.
