- Basmati rice - 150 grams

- Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
- Allspice powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 300 ml
- Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons for garnish
Steps
- Heat the olive oil in a medium-sized pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 7-10 minutes.
- Mix in the tomato paste, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and black pepper, cooking for an additional 3 minutes to combine the flavors.
- Add the washed basmati rice to the pot, stirring to coat it with the beef mixture.
- Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and has absorbed the water.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
