  • Basmati rice - 150 grams
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Allspice powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 300 ml
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat the olive oil in a medium-sized pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 7-10 minutes.

  5. Add the washed basmati rice to the pot, stirring to coat it with the beef mixture.
  6. Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and has absorbed the water.

  8. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
