- Vegetable broth - 300 milliliters
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon

- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 15 minutes.
- In a medium pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic to the pot and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the cumin, coriander, turmeric, salt, and black pepper, cooking for another minute to release the spices' aromas.
- Add the drained chickpeas to the pot, mixing well to coat them with the spices.
- Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot along with the vegetable broth. Stir gently to combine.
