- Ground lamb or beef - 250 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Allspice - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Bell pepper - 1 small, sliced
- Zucchini - 1 small, sliced
- Eggs - 2 (optional, for serving)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, allspice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the meat mixture into oval or round patties and place them in a baking dish.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the kafta patties and arrange the sliced tomatoes, bell peppers, and zucchini around them.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the kafta is cooked through and slightly browned.
- If desired, crack the eggs on top of the kafta patties during the last 5 minutes of baking for a delicious topping.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
