- Eggplant - 250 grams
- Tahini - 30 grams
- Olive oil - 15 ml
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Lemon juice - 15 ml
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/4 teaspoon
- Pita bread - 2 pieces
- Fresh parsley - 5 grams (for garnish)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Pierce the eggplant several times with a fork and place it on a baking sheet.
- Roast the eggplant in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the skin is charred and the flesh is soft.
- Once cooked, let the eggplant cool for a few minutes, then scoop out the flesh into a mixing bowl.
- Add tahini, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and cumin to the eggplant flesh.
- Use a fork or a blender to mix until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- While preparing the dip, warm the pita bread in the oven for the last 5 minutes of the eggplant roasting.
- Serve the Baba Ghanoush in a bowl, drizzled with extra olive oil and garnished with chopped parsley, alongside warm pita bread.
