Ingredients

  • Short-grain rice - 50g
  • Whole milk - 400ml
  • Sugar - 50g
  • Rose water - 1 tsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Ground cinnamon - for garnish
  • Chopped pistachios - 20g

Steps

  1. Rinse the short-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, whole milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Stir well and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked and the mixture is thickened.
  4. Add the rose water and cardamom powder, stirring well to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
