Ingredients
- Whole milk - 500 ml
- Cornstarch - 30 g
- Sugar - 50 g
- Rose water - 1 tsp
- Pistachios, chopped - 30 g
- Honey or date syrup - 2 tbsp
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- In a saucepan, combine the whole milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a few tablespoons of cold milk to create a slurry. Once the milk mixture is hot, gradually add the cornstarch slurry while continuously stirring.
- Continue cooking and stirring for about 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens to a custard-like consistency.
- Remove from heat and stir in the rose water for flavor.
- Pour the mixture into two serving bowls or dishes and let cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.
- Before serving, drizzle with honey or date syrup and sprinkle with chopped pistachios.
