Ingredients
- Glutinous rice - 100 grams
- Water - 800 milliliters
- Chicken breast (skinless) - 100 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
- Carrot - 1 small, diced
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice in cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in enough water to cover for at least 30 minutes.
- In a pot, add the soaked rice and 800 milliliters of fresh water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add the chicken breast, minced garlic, grated ginger, and salt. Cover and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- After 30 minutes, remove the chicken breast, shred it using two forks, and return it to the pot.
- Add the diced carrot and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the carrot is tender.
- Serve the porridge hot, garnished with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of black sesame seeds. Add soy sauce to taste if desired.
